Over-Grip
The thinnest of the grip tapes. It can easily be wrapped over an existing grip tape. Overgrips are very soft and adapt well to the shape of the grip. They are also usually very grippy, sometimes even sticky (e.g. the 3-pack of overgrips from Li Ning) However, a basic grip tape should first be wrapped over the handle of the badminton racket.
Contour grips
These slightly thicker grip tapes have a sewn-in "bead", which ensures that the badminton racket sits comfortably in the hand. Players with large hands who sweat a lot often prefer this type of grip.
Terrycloth grip
Terrycloth grips have a small but constant fan base among badminton players, as they provide a somewhat more playable feel. These grips absorb sweat very well and provide an excellent grip. They become relatively hard after playing and soften again as you play. Terry cloth grip tapes need to be replaced more often as they become too hard and worn after a few games.
Other grip tapes
There are also a large number of different grip tapes made of foamed polyurethane. These include, for example, the PU Super Grip from Karakal (air-dried) or the Premium Grip from Oliver. Victor, for example, uses the Fishbone Grip on many of its high-quality badminton rackets as the basic grip tape over the racket handle
