Florian is one of the top 20 table tennis players in Germany and, together with Ruwen Filus and Wang Xi, makes up the top 3 German defensive players. His attractive game regularly inspires the German TT community.

He is right-handed and has (as of March 2023) a TTR of 2337, his career high to date was 2390.
