To mark the 25th anniversary of the Swedish team winning the World Championship title in Dortmund in 1989 (a historic 5:0 victory over China in the final), there are now three new blades dedicated to the legends Jan-Ove Waldner, Jörgen Persson and Mikael Appelgren and produced exclusively for DONIC in Germany: by master craftsmen, with the highest precision and using state-of-the-art technology - just as the three Swedish superstars played. An Italian Spruce veneer that is over 200 years old is used as the top veneer for all three models. It is combined with a 3 mm thick Kiri core and other spruce veneers or, in the Appelgren All+ model, Ayous and a new type of carbon fleece Zylon fabric (CFZ), which is produced exclusively for DONIC. Only high-quality saw-cut veneers from our own production are used, which are more stable than conventional sliced veneers and guarantee that the blade retains its playing properties for much longer, i.e. without the usual material fatigue. In a specially developed drying process, the moisture content of all three types of wood is reduced from 12 to 16 percent to just 4 percent. This makes the woods particularly stable and light (Waldner and Persson at approx. 85 g, the Appelgren All+ even only approx. 80 g). Each individual piece of wood is subjected to a special cold pressing process for 24 hours. The use of unique 3D technology ensures that the handle is ergonomically perfect and perfectly rounded.
